Marked?

Okay, so I decided to stop with the revisions today and pick up a book from my TBR pile. Yeah, the book was Marked by P.C. and Kristin Cast. I'm on page 50 and don't know of ANY teenager that would talk like that. Poopie and turd. . .Really?

Does it get better?

*Edit*

Okay, the last thirty pages are good, but they don't make up for the rest of the book. Not sure if I'll read the next one. There's something about vamp guys with face tattoos that I find so. . .unattractive. Maybe if I pick up book 2 it may change. Not sure.

Before reading it, I read reviews on how beautiful the ceremonies were in it. I feel sort bad cause I completely skipped over them! They were just so long. Did anyone else feel the same way?

Honestly, I know lots of people who are in love with this series. With that being said, I'm not a big fan. I gave the first book a 1 star rating, and 2-5 a 2 star with the exception of Chosen, #3, which got a 3 star. I've kept reading because the plot is mildly interesting, but to be honest, I can't stand the majority of the characters. Not to mention the writing style really bugged me too. I plan on seeing this series through to the end, but it's nowhere near becoming one of my favorites.

Lol! I totally understand. I recall a few instances where I had to step back, blink a few times, and reread a part. I'm really surprised that these books are so popular...I think the first book is the worst, but they don't improve all that much throughout the series. At least, that's my opinion :)

ackkk. i'm not even going to go into detail about "the twins." if i had friends like that in high school, i'd. . .Well, come to think of it, they wouldn't be my friends in the first place. period.

These books are aweful - won't say anything different but for some reason I'm addicted to them. I think it's the whole not being able to take your eyes off a train wreck thing!

LOL I haven't read the book, but I've read a review that said the same thing -- what teenager actually says poopie??

Bunny, you should give it a try anyway. You may feel different about them. Like others have said tons of people love this series. But, it just wasn't for me.
